This piece pushes the colour a lot further, the reds and pinks take over most of the surface, with bits of blue and white cutting through to keep it from getting too flat. It feels a bit more intense overall, but still built in the same way, layer by layer, letting it develop rather than forcing it.

The base is loose and instinctive, with marks and splashes going in without much thought, the structure comes over the top with the grid lines breaking everything up into sections, giving it some control, but you can still see the movement underneath pushing through.

There’s a steady run of calligraphy on this one but not meant to be clearly read. It’s more about getting thoughts down in the moment, then letting them sit in the background, half visible, half lost.

Because of the colour and the tighter structure, it feels a bit more direct but still sits in that same space between order and chaos, with nothing overly planned, but nothing is completely out of control either.

As always, the meaning is left open, you can read into it whatever you feel, or just take it as it is, it’s more about spending time with it and seeing what stands out to you.
